800 of Us, Every Weekend
Dear friends,
Every October the Archdiocese asks each parish to count who comes to Mass. So for four weekends we did. Here’s what we found:
We’re one parish in two languages.
A quarter of us pray in Spanish. That face from “the other Mass” in the parking lot? Family.
We need more men.
There are about three men for every five women. Men, think of one guy who’s drifted away, and bring him along one Sunday.
The kids are here.
One in six of us is a child. So when a little one cries during the homily, smile at the parents. That’s what a future sounds like.
Thanks to everyone who counted, and everyone who was counted. We’ll count again next October. Let’s be more.
In Christ,
Fr. Felix
